And I'm not sure that the analogy has to be completely the same each time Paul uses it because a lot of his analogies seem pretty fluid throughout his writing. He employs them for unique purposes. Still, within the same letter I would want to assume that they are more consistent than divergent. All of that may not make much sense, but you may want to consider another way that the 1 Corinthians metaphor can function. One issue in that chapter is about giving glory in prophesy through head coverings. The issue is that the men are glorified through having their heads uncovered, and the women are glorified through wearing head coverings. The women should wear the head coverings because that brings them glory instead of bringing them shame when they are prophesying. You wouldn't want to have the people who are speaking for God be shamed.
